The Lunar is Silver Cross's bedside crib, built around a fold-flat frame that collapses for storage between children or for taking to a grandparent's house, complete with its own travel bag. Like the SnuzPod4 it offers 7 height positions and an incline setting for reflux, and it includes a bamboo-lined, heat-regulating mattress as standard.

Against the SnuzPod4, the two sit at a similar price and both offer 7-level height adjustment, but the Lunar's genuine fold-flat design is the point of difference — neither the SnuzPod4 nor the Shnuggle Air Lite collapse this compactly, so the Lunar suits families who expect to pack it away between uses or move it between houses. It's heavier in its unfolded footprint than the Air Lite, though, so day-to-day repositioning is less convenient.

It's best for parents who want a bedside crib they can realistically store flat in a cupboard or car boot rather than leave permanently assembled, or who plan to reuse it for a second baby and want it to survive being packed away for a year or more in between.

The limitation is the same as its bedside-only rivals: usable life stops at around 9kg or roughly 6 months, and the fold mechanism, while a genuine convenience, is another moving part to learn and occasionally makes the frame feel less rigid than the fixed SnuzPod4 or Air Lite.

What we liked

  • Genuine fold-flat design with included travel bag, unlike most rivals
  • 7 height positions plus incline setting for reflux
  • Bamboo-lined, machine-washable mattress cover included

Where it falls short

  • Fold mechanism adds a moving part and can feel less rigid than fixed-frame cribs
  • Heavier unfolded footprint than the Shnuggle Air Lite
  • Same short 9kg/6-month usable window as other bedside-only cribs

How we scored it

Co-Sleeping Safety & Proximity

How securely and safely the crib or basket attaches or sits at bed height, keeping baby within arm's reach for night feeds while meeting current BS EN safety standards.

8/10

Drop-down panel and bed strapping work as intended, though the fold hinge is an extra part to check is locked each night.

Height & Fit Adjustability

How easily the product adjusts to match different bed heights and mattress depths, and how long it stays useful as baby grows.

8/10

7 height positions and incline match the SnuzPod4, plus the fold-flat design adds storage flexibility the others lack.

Value for Money

What you get for the price, including what's included in the box versus sold as extras, and expected lifespan of use.

8/10

Slightly cheaper than the SnuzPod4 with a comparable spec, plus reusability across siblings thanks to flat storage.
