Best Bedside Cribs & Moses Baskets UK

6 products comparedUpdated Reviewed by Sepehr

Five of these six are dedicated bedside cribs, all sharing the same short birth-to-6-months/9kg usable window, and they mostly differ on how they attach and fold. Snüz's SnuzPod4 (£199.95) is the UK's best-seller, with a half-height zip-down wall for easy night access without fully lowering the side, and a bassinet that lifts off the stand for portable daytime naps. Silver Cross's Lunar (£175) is the only one here that genuinely folds flat for storage or travel, with 7 height positions plus an incline setting for reflux. Shnuggle's Air Lite (£180) is the smallest and lightest of the three, easier to reposition nightly, though it has a lower maximum bed-height fit than the SnuzPod4 or Lunar.

HALO's BassiNest (£299) works differently — freestanding on its own stand rather than clamped to the bed frame, and it swivels 360 degrees so you can turn it toward you without getting up. Chicco's Next2Me Forever (£369, the priciest) breaks from the short usable window entirely, converting through three stages from bedside crib to standalone cot to toddler floor bed, usable from birth to around 4 years — nearly double the price of a dedicated first-6-months crib, but stretching the investment much further.

Mamas & Papas' Moses basket (£99, the cheapest overall) is a different product type again — no bedside attachment mechanism at all, genuinely portable between rooms, but needing a separately-bought stand for true bedside height and a separately-bought mattress.

The verdict

For most parents, Snüz's SnuzPod4 is the strongest all-rounder and the best-seller for good reason — easy night access and a portable bassinet. Silver Cross's Lunar is worth it specifically if you need something that folds flat, for travel or a smaller room. Shnuggle's Air Lite suits a lighter setup you'll reposition often. HALO's BassiNest is the pick if you don't want anything clamped to your bed frame. If you want one purchase to last years rather than months, Chicco's Next2Me Forever justifies its price by converting all the way to a toddler bed. And if simple, portable and cheap matters most for daytime naps around the house, Mamas & Papas' Moses basket does that job, once you've budgeted for a stand and mattress on top.
