If you want one purchase to last years rather than months, Chicco's Next2Me Forever justifies its price by converting all the way to a toddler bed. And if simple, portable and cheap matters most for daytime naps around the house, Mamas & Papas' Moses basket does that job, once you've budgeted for a stand and mattress on top.
