How we choose what to review

We prioritise products that are widely available in the UK, from brands with an established track record, across the categories a real "what do I need" checklist would cover for each stage. Being sent a product for testing never guarantees it gets reviewed, and never guarantees a good score.

How we score

Every product category has its own set of scoring criteria, weighted by what actually matters for that category — for example, feeding bottles are scored on anti-colic performance, ease of cleaning, and how readily babies accept the teat, not a generic one-size-fits-all rubric. Each criterion is scored out of 10 and combined into a weighted overall score, shown on every product page under "How we scored it."

Hands-on testing status

We're building this site ahead of our own baby arriving, so most reviews right now are built from research and published manufacturer specifications rather than hands-on use. Every product page shows a clear badge — "Hands-on tested by us" or "Not yet hands-on tested" — so you always know which you're reading. Scores and recommendations are never inflated to compensate for not having tested something yet; where we haven't used a product ourselves, the review reflects that.

Buying, gifting, and disclosure

Once we do buy or receive a product, it's either bought with our own money or sent to us by a brand for testing — and we always disclose which, on the product page. Sponsorship or a free product never buys editorial coverage or a specific score — see our affiliate disclosure for how we make money from this site.

Corrections

If you spot something inaccurate on the site, or a product has changed since we reviewed it, let us know and we'll look into it.
