The verdict
Bugaboo's latest twin pushchair converts from a slim 60cm single to a 74cm side-by-side double in three clicks, with a bigger underseat basket and lower CO2 footprint than the previous generation. Best for parents of twins, or a newborn plus an older sibling, who want one frame that flexes between one and two children. At 74cm in double mode it's still one of the widest buggies in this category and very high priced, so doorways and budget both need checking.
The Donkey 6 Twin is Bugaboo's latest twin pushchair, succeeding the Donkey 5 reviewed here previously. The biggest change versus the 5 is the frame itself: rather than a fixed twin-width chassis, the Donkey 6 starts as a 60cm-wide single stroller and converts to a 74cm-wide side-by-side double in three clicks using the twin bassinet fabric bundle reviewed here — useful if you might only need the double configuration for a shorter stretch, or want a narrower frame for everyday single trips.
At 74cm in double mode it's still a side-by-side design like the Out n About Nipper Double, giving both children the same forward-facing, side-by-side view, and still trades the Nipper's all-terrain tyres for smoother, quieter town wheels.
Versus the iCandy Peach 7 Double, the Donkey 6 remains the pushchair genuinely designed around two children rather than a single converted into a double — the underseat basket is now 50% bigger than the previous generation (15kg/70L), and Bugaboo has cut the stroller's CO2 footprint 17% versus earlier Donkey models with more recycled aluminium and organic-cotton linings.
Build quality and ride comfort remain excellent, and converting from single to double in three clicks is the standout change from the 5: it's more flexible for parents who don't need double width every day. The core limitation carries over from the 5 — at 74cm in double mode, it's still one of the widest buggies in this list and worth measuring against your own front door, garden gate, or lift before you commit.
