Stokke's Sleepi is the premium option in this category, distinguished by its distinctive oval shape (designed to echo the womb) and the most extensive conversion system on the market — mini crib, cot, toddler bed, and with additional purchased extension kits, a junior bed usable well into primary-school years. This is a considerably longer usable lifespan than Boori's or East Coast's cot beds also in this category, though it comes at a correspondingly higher price.

Against Boori's Eton specifically, Stokke's modular system requires buying separate extension kits for each conversion stage rather than the conversion being built into the base purchase, which is worth factoring into the true total cost. For families who value distinctive Scandinavian design and are planning to use one cot bed across multiple growth stages (or multiple children), Sleepi's total cost of ownership can work out reasonable despite the higher sticker price.

What we liked

  • Distinctive design, well regarded for build quality
  • Modular system can extend use across multiple children

Where it falls short

  • Highest price point in the category by a wide margin
