Clamping straight onto the dining table rather than standing on the floor changes what this product is for - it's less a full highchair replacement and more a space-saving, portable seat that lets your baby sit at the actual table with the rest of the family. The three tray positions are a genuinely useful detail as your baby grows from purée feeds needing the tray close, to finger foods where a bit more room to manoeuvre helps. At around 3.6kg it's genuinely light to carry between rooms or pack in a bag, which the Antilop, while movable, doesn't quite match for grab-and-go convenience.

Against the IKEA Antilop, this is the pricier, more compact option - roughly four times the cost for a product with a narrower use case, since it depends on having a suitable table edge to clamp onto (thick glass tables, pedestal tables and some extending tables won't work). What you get in return is genuine portability: it folds flat for the car boot or a grandparent's house in a way the bulkier Antilop can't match.

Best suited to families with limited kitchen space who don't want a permanent floor-standing highchair taking up room, or anyone who travels regularly and wants a highchair that comes with them. Families with a suitable table who don't need portability are generally better served by the cheaper, sturdier Antilop as a full-time solution.

It needs a sturdy, appropriately shaped table edge to clamp onto securely, so it's worth checking your table works before buying rather than after, and it won't fit every surface. Cleaning is also less thorough than the Antilop's strip-down design - this is largely a wipe-clean single unit, so food that gets into the clamp mechanism or seams is harder to get at.
